Had a big sushi crave today, and so I quickly charged to the nearest sushi restaurant after Friday prayers. Ordered a big platter of Sushi rolls. They

It Was Free

gave me an egg-tofu desert thing and miso shiru soup for free. The sushi was great, so much better than Ichiban.

Problem is... I still want some sushi.

Its been a while since I actually went to a sushi restaurant to eat sushi (I usually buy them on the food court, etc), but lately I've been regularly visiting sushi restaurants, Its feels like the first time I had sushi back in 1993, I'm addicted. Oh lord please help me end this addiction, have mercy on my wallet.

...where was I??

Breakfast

Oh yes. On our third day, we woke up really early. We had an awesome fried rice and seafood breakfast, and we're off to do another teacher's training.
It was a bit dry that day, so dry that when I wanted to go to the toilet, the nearest one with running water is 500 meters away. But the view from the class room was amazing. It was an open door class room, and since its near to a farm, occasionally there were chickens or ducks that went to the class room, surprisingly nobody took notice but me and my father. Must be an everyday sight for everyone.

We finished class an hour after shollat Jum'at, and went back to the hotel and packed our bags. The host treated us to a seafood banquet at Totang Rasa Restaurant just before we leave for Lombok. I have never ate so many shrimps in my life, and these were king prawns... delicious. There was also this fish soup called "Sepat". Its not made from a sepat fish, nor did it taste sepat (bitter), but its just what its called. It was really tasty, and some people here say that the food is also known as the "In-Laws Ignorer" food, coz once you eat it, you wouldn't care if your mother in-law was around.

We finally left, and it was another hour ferry boat ride to Lombok Island. We had to wait another hour before we could enter the harbour, so I took some pictures on board the ferry. We also ate the last meal we had from Totang Rasa which they packed for us, yummy.

We reached Lombok at 8 at night and checked in to the Sahid Hotel. Intenet was quite expensive here, since they charged $3 an hour, but I did use their service to check on my emails and upload photos to flickr. I left the hotel for Jakarta the next day. It was a stop over flight, and I was stuck in Surabaya for 4 hours before I can finally reach Jakarta. Great business trip none the less.

Pempek Pak Raden

This my friend, is a bundle of Joy. My favorite food: the Pempek (read: empek-empek). Originates from Palembang in Sumatra, the food is served with black sweet vinegar. I just can't describe in words how incredile this tood taste like.

Most of my friends kept asking me: Where is it?

Bubur ayam (chicken porridge) Cempaka Putih is located at Jl.Cempaka Putih tengah 16, and is only open from 06.00 to 10.00. So not a lot of my friends were lucky enough to get there on time before it closes. To make things worse, the guy who sells it opens up according to his mood.

But seriously, you should try it, it's delicious. One of the best places that sells bubur ayam.
